I have very fond memories of baseball and growing up in Del Rio, Texas, the Atlanta Braves were the team our family rooted for. Along with having a girlhood crush on Dale Murphy, I’ve always loved the experience of going to baseball games. The crack of the bat, the lush green field, the stadium hot dog, and now that I’m more than of age, beer in commemorative stadium cups, and the walk-up songs are all things I love about going to games.
To celebrate the beginning of the 2011 MLB baseball season, Time Warner Cable is giving customers the chance to experience America’s pasttime in their homes with a free preview of MLB Extra Innings March 31 – April 10.
MLB Extra Innings gives digital customers the chance to watch up to 80 out-of-market games each week through the regular season plus an additional 24 games in HD each week. So what does that mean? I live in San Antonio and the programmer with rights to the MLB games features Houston Astros games as in-market games for us. Now, say I’m a Dodgers fan and would do anything to watch Dodgers games, then MLB Extra Innings would be the package for me because I get to see those out-of-market games. MLB Extra Innings also has some other cool features like the “multi-screen mosaic” featuring multiple screens of live action of games being played, score, inning and which MLB Extra Innings channel to find the games on.
Here’s a little ditty to kick off the season. We’ll have the games on MLB Extra Innings, all you need are some Cracker Jacks.
