Yesterday began the 125th anniversary of The Championships, Wimbledon (or just Wimbledon, as it’s know on the streets), the world’s oldest tennis competition. For non fans of tennis, Wimbledon is remarkable as much for being the only Grand Slam tournament still played on grass (the game’s original surface) as it is for its prestige, rigid dress code and devouring of strawberries and cream.
It’s all worth tuning in for. But for American viewers interested in watching noon Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Singles and Doubles five hours away, this may not be so convenient. Fortunately, Time Warner Cable and ESPN have you covered.
By creating a Time Warner Cable ID, you can sign up with MyServices, log on to ESPNnetworks.com, and feel like you’re courtside, even when you’re not in front of your TV. There’s also the free WatchESPN app so you can watch your favorite ESPN networks and programming including Wimbledon live online or on your mobile or tablet device, anytime and anywhere.
It’s all free for Digital TV customers who already have ESPN as part of their cable package, and creating a Time Warner Cable ID is simple when you register for a MyServices account. Here’s what you should know:
Wimbledon runs from Monday, June 20th through Sunday, July 5th. Big tennis fan? Register for MyServices and download the WatchESPN app, then let us know what you think.

Why all these new ways to view ESPN when support for ESPN3 on Xbox360 STILL is not available almost a year after it was promised?
Obviously the infrastructure for recognizing accounts on other hardware is in place if iPad and online accounts work…Can we get some kind of update? either it is a promised feature or it is not coming at all. TV Everywhere, right?

This is great… Looks like we should be able to use the My Services log in information to verify our HBO subscription so we can access HBO GO???
Are the negotiations finally over?
Can Time Warner Cable subscribers finally access HBO GO?
Thanks,
Dolf

Al,
It looks like it’s “TV Everywhere” as long as Time Warner Cable can control it…
What’s the one thing both of our issues have in common?? Time Warner Cable doesn’t directly benefit.
Perhaps what they fail to see is that they are getting a reputation for being behind the curve. This is why they will continue to lose customers.
80% of TV service providers have signed on to HBO GO! The big exception being TWC! HBO GO is completely free! What the hell can they be “actively negotiating” unless it’s some BS ploy to reap some selfish benefit?
Why deny your paying customers such a benefit??? Why create growing hostility and ill will with your increasingly tech savvy audience?? Only Time Warner Cable’s cracker jack “negotiators” know for sure.
My guess?? They are trying to “negotiate” that HBO GO be a part of their crappy TWC app. You know, the one you can’t use outside of your home. And only if you have RoadRunner.
It’s getting harder and harder to justify the ridiculous amount of money I spend with TWC every month…
Unless they change their tune quickly they will be gone in a few years… Just like Blockbuster…

It is really disappointing to see TWC promoting ESPN3 when this still isn’t available through Xbox Live. I wish TWC would offer a public statement with a realistic deadline so consumers could decide whether it is worth staying on as subscribers. With TWC’s existing PR approach of perpetual “coming soon” answers and no progress, there is no reason not to jump to FiOS as soon as it is available.
