Facebook is not just changing the way we communicate with friends and family. It’s giving people the opportunity to connect with potential employers and have a real productive conversation. I’m the community manager for our TWCable Jobs Facebook page and it’s been a real treat to see our candidates using this platform to interact with Time Warner Cable.
I love helping people especially when you have questions about Time Warner Cable employment. Candidates won’t have to worry about the “black hole” known as the online application anymore. Now candidates have a voice and social media gives you the platform to ask the questions you couldn’t previously. If you need directions to your interview, just want to stop by and say “hi” we’ll be there waiting for you. If you have questions about app status, etc, that are more private we’re happy to use Facebook to initiate a 1:1 or more.
We have tracked over 23,000 career site visitors via Facebook, since launching our Facebook jobs page in February of this year. The impressive thing about this number is that we only have 1750 Facebook fans.
I try hard to balance the feed with job tips I believe in, conversation starters and open positions. If you are serious about working at Time Warner Cable and want regular updates about hiring at TWCable, I suggest you fan/like us.
This month I had the great opportunity to meet Theo via Facebook and below is the conversation we had.

Pretty cool, huh? What’s great about social media is that employers and applicants can have a conversation in real time. I’m super excited about this transition and to see how we will talk about employment opportunities in the future. Now, I challenge you to share the care and post a job opportunity on your Facebook wall; you have amazing talented people in your network and we have amazing opportunities. If Facebook is not your thing you can always follow us on Twitter @TWCableJobs

Awesome! As a 7+ year TWC Employee, that still loves her job, I’m so excited to see the use of Social Media to correspond with applicants & future TWC employees. Good job!
