The Women’s Collective at Time Warner Cable

Chairman and CEO Glenn Britt Speaks to the Women's Collective

As an employee of Time Warner Cable, I am proud to say that the company offers a rich environment for the men and women that work here.  We have eighteen employee networks, including those that support veterans, women, disability inclusion, Hispanic and African American culture and GLBT employees and advocates.  One employee network that I have an affinity for is our Women’s Collective, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.

The Women’s Collective provides support for the professional growth of women at all levels within the company.  Membership is inclusive and open to all employees.  Through a variety of initiatives, such as networking and speaker events and member surveys, our employees are given the tools they need for professional development.  The Collective has also served to increase employee morale and productivity.

In 2011, TWC’s dedication to the advancement of women was highlighted in two important ways.  First, we hired our  first female Chief Financial Officer, Irene Esteves.  Irene joined other women in key executive roles such as Chief Communications Officer, Chief Programming Officer,  Chief Government Affairs Officer, President of Media Sales and Executive Vice President of our company’s East region.  Secondly, TWC earned the top operator distinction among the best companies for women in cable, based on the results of the 2011 Women in Cable Television PAR Survey.  These achievements, along with the expansion of employee networks like The Women’s Collective, demonstrate that TWC is very supportive of its employees and is committed to diversity progress.
