Rahman Khan is our Director of Diversity Recruitment Strategy here at Time Warner Cable. And it’s really important to Rahman – and Time warner Cable – to make sure that we welcome veterans of the Armed Forces with solid, rewarding careers. As a key member of our recruiting team, Rahman is committed to bringing the best and brightest to work here at TWC. Rahman believes there is no better place to start than with our military personnel.
This year, Rahman attended the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC).
The goal of JCOC is for participants to leave the program with a better understanding of the Department of Defense mission. With that knowledge, they can help increase the public’s understanding of military personnel, facilities, equipment and programs. Rahman’s selection for this year’s conference was both a personal honor and an opportunity for TWC.
Here are a few pics of Rahman – in protective gear:

… posing with actual troops:
Here’s one of Rahman’s updates from the field, stripped from a thread on our internal message board. Rahman updated employees – many of them former veterans – who followed along during his trip:
…had a great but long day today. Just getting finished now, but had a chance to get a briefing today at 08:00 from the #2 military officer, the Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
After visiting the Pentagon, flew to Hurlburt Field in FL to learn more about Air Force Special Operations Command. The highlight was meeting the men and women on base, getting a demo on a CV-22 plane and watching them simulate destroying a target at night.
It wasn’t all easy, though:
We have a tough as nails Drill Instructor who has been yelling instructions at us since early this morning (the instructors don’t sleep much). We ate at a mess hall and told to make it quick in the “head” (bathroom). Good learning lesson though.
The day is only half over…aghhh!
According to MAJ Alan D. Munro – a TWC employee on our internal message board:
I’ve been a citizen-soldier and TWC Employee for the past 10 years. Speaking from my personal experiance, TWC is in a very elite group of companies that are very military friendly! Enjoy your time and always use that heater to warm those MREs!
