Morning, noon and night, TWC’s employees are on the job, installing services and sometimes fixing outages with the help of the company’s fleet of bucket trucks.
Two of those bucket trucks came especially handy on a chilly and windy September morning outside TWC’s downtown Milwaukee office building. Employees used the trucks to hang a massive United Way campaign banner on the side of the building. It was a moment, Milwaukee’s NBC affiliate, WTMJ-4 highlighted live during their morning newscast.
Perhaps the best part of this sign? The three faces pictured on the banner are TWC-Wisconsin techs and consistent United Way donors: David Kingsby, Clayton Malayter and Robert Galburth.
The banner sign will be displayed on this well-travelled corner for the next few months, reminding residents and commuters about the importance of business and community support of United Way programs. This season, the United Way of Greater Milwaukee hopes to raise $51.5 million dollars.
United Way helps meet the needs of the community, directing money towards many education, family and health initiatives. For over a decade, TWC-Wisconsin has partnered with United Way. In 2011, 400 Wisconsin employees donated $104,000!
“Each morning a large smile crosses my face when I turn onto Third Street and pass your building on my way to work, says Ann Stadler, vice president of marketing and communications for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee. “Thank you for the amazing sign you invested in to support your partnership with United Way and our community. We are so very pleased and appreciative of this opportunity to create awareness.”
So before the official “holiday” giving season gets underway, TWC-Wisconsin employees are helping lay the ground work for a successful season of giving for United Way—a program that gives back to the community in which we live and work.
