Time Warner Cable SportsNet’s and Time Warner Cable Deportes’ fully-enabled, on-the-go capabilities are now available to both Time Warner Cable and DIRECTV subscribers. I don’t see the benefit of this app (or the channel in the first place) on my New York lineup. Just like every other regional sports network, we can’t watch out of market games direct on this channel. It takes up yet another channel for no good reason. In NY State, there are several flavors of TWSportsnet (Albany, Rochester, Binghamton) and TWC-NYC only has two part time standard def channels and randomly chooses what will be shown on any given night. I already had a huge issue when the slides used to show what will be airing were incorrect. Eventually I received a credit and they figured out what they were doing wrong so at least I can watch what is expected to be broadcast.

I realize it’s a huge deal that this so-called TWC Sportsnet has Lakers and Dodgers games but if I can’t watch them due to MLB and NBA regulations, why bother giving NYC the channel? As for the app, I can’t watch ANYTHING as I’m officially out of market.

I’d rather have one of the other NY-based channels or nothing at all and save a dime.
