TWC’s Holiday Yule Log Heats Up Your TV

yule log_featured

It’s that time of year again when the greatest holiday program of all time descends upon our televisions. No, it’s not Jimmy Stewart’s unforgettable performance in It’s a Wonderful Life. It’s not the constant, heart-warming barrage of feel-good Santa fare on the Hallmark Channel. It’s not even the 24/7 rotation of A Christmas Story. No, folks, it’s the legendary, televised Yule Log.

Available now via On Demand in both standard and high-definition, this rustic video fireplace will crackle quaintly during any rip-roaring, egg nog-fueled holiday party. While it won’t actually heat your apartment, it also won’t burn down your living room, either. Trust us, your landlord will thank you.

Viewers can now witness all the red-hot excitement in stunning 3D, dodging every explosive ember that snaps from the smoldering logs. A warning, however: The added depth and definition could make you inclined to stoke your own television. Don’t do it. Your TV will almost certainly break.

And joining in the festivities this year are two other blustery programs, Winter Green (a snowy, pine-forest setting) and Snowman (featuring a Frosty-esque hero dressed in a top hat and scarf). Another warning: Don’t switch too quickly between Yule Log and Snowman if you’re hoping to avoid a puddle on the carpet.

All three choices are accompanied by classic carols such as Joy to the World, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

If, however, the complicated plots and inter-weaving stories of Yule Log, Winter Green or Snowman prove too much for the casual, Christmas-time viewer, customers can also celebrate the season with a merry collection of holiday movies and music. Movies On Demand and MC’s Sounds of the Season offer up favorite flicks like A Christmas Story, Love Actually and Home Alone, as well as classic songs from crooners like Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, and many more.

The Yule Log, Winter Green and Snowman are available now through Jan. 2, 2014 and can be found in the “Holidays” section of Movies On Demand.
