NY1 Debuts New Behind-the-Scenes Series “How NYC Works”

NYC Skyline

On Thursday, March 6th, Time Warner Cable News NY1 will launch a bi-weekly series called “How NYC Works.” The ongoing feature will take an in-depth look at the inner workings and day-to-day operations of the city’s five boroughs. The special reports will feature NY1 personality Roger Clark as he goes behind-the-scenes of locations New Yorkers would otherwise never see.

“How NYC Works” will debut during News All Morning starting at 7am. The report will run in two parts throughout the day with a full 7-minute version airing during New York Tonight at 8pm.

In the first installment of the series, Clark shows how the United States Postal Service works by following a letter from mailbox to recipient, tracking its adventures through the high-tech, multi-layered system of machine sorting and haz-mat checks. Viewers will learn how a mind-blowing 10 million pieces of mail get delivered to New Yorkers each day.

Upcoming episodes of “How NYC Works” will highlight:

March 20 – From tide to table. An exploration of the Fulton Fish Market.

April 3 – Light switch, meet light bulb. A look inside the New York City power grid.

April 17 – A reservoir in a glass. We follow your drinking water straight from the source.

“How NYC Works” will replay throughout the day Saturdays and Sundays on NY1. The extended 7-minute version will be available online at ny1.com and on TWC On Demand Channel 1111.
